She is a kind person. Unlike Ayaka, she appears to like training and boxing. She is very intense about training, noted as being very spartan,[2] like dropping a medicine ball on her sisters stomach.

Like the older women in the cast, she wants to get married.

She interrupted Ayaka and Hibiki's movie night, telling Ayaka that she needed her help with the family business. With Hibiki coming along, Nana revealed the Uehara family business was training boxers at their gym, with Nana showing how tough a trainer she was. After encouraging Hibiki to throw some punches on the sandbag and then witnessing her destroy the sandbag with a single hit, Nana decided to try to train Hibiki as a boxer.

Coming into Silverman Gym looking for Ayaka, it was revealed that she was the girl Hibiki had seen Machio with earlier in the day. They explained that they went to elementary school together and that today had been their middle school reunion.

She is good at training other people in boxing as she has trained plenty of people that have then become professionals.

  • Machio Naruzo: Machio and Nana have been friends since elementary school.[3]
  • Sakura Ibuki: Nana and Ibuki have been friends since high school. They are good friends. She usually translates his eccentric loquacious way of speaking.
  • Uehara Ayaka: Ayaka is her sister.
  • Sakura Hibiki: After seeing Hibiki's latent punching power, she decides to try to train Hibiki as a boxer. She hasn't had much success.

  • Uehara means "above, top, upper" (上) (ue) and "field, plain" (原) (hara).
  • Nana (2) is written in katakana (ナナ), which has no special meaning. However, when written in kanji (菜奈, 奈菜, 菜々 or 奈々), it could possibly mean:

    • 奈菜 - "apple tree" (奈) (na) and "vegetables, greens" (菜) (na).
    • 菜々 - "vegetables, greens".
    • 奈々 - "apple tree".
